Our Mission

Music & Health Ireland exists to create and deliver equitable performances that comfort and connect.

We want to take music off the concert stage and bring it in to the heart of communities. We work to remove barriers to accessing high quality and collaborative music and artistic work, by connecting with people, their families and healthcare providers where they’re at, in hospitals, schools and nursing homes. We also support and train professional musicians and artists across genres to safely and equitably co-design and deliver in all settings.

This project began in 2021 as a response to the Covid pandemic. It sought to find new ways of connecting some of the most vulnerable members in our communities isolated in nursing homes to their families.

In 2022 the project continued to evolve and grow from learning to be responsive to the needs of healthcare communities, their residents, staff and families.
