Music For & With Children

Kids Classics programme was first piloted in 2008 as a hospital music programme with live music workshops based on the lives of well-known classical composers in the schoolrooms of CHI Crumlin, CHI Temple Street and CHI Tallaght through the kind support of the National Concert Hall.  The programme aimed to create equal opportunities in music access, participation and education while offering opportunities to be involved in a creative activity alongside professional musicians.

The success of the pilot programme demonstrated the overwhelming demand for this work and in the years since then, Music & Health Ireland – in active partnership with the National Concert Hall and with the support of Community Foundation Ireland – has expanded its programme reach within the hospitals beyond the schoolrooms and playrooms and now the main focus of the work takes place at bedsides, in wards and intensive care units.

Meath Musical Mystery Tour
